Jewish Symbols

Throughout the generations of Jewish history a number of symbols have become synonymous to the Jewish identity. These Jewish symbols  come from both traditional biblical sources and also mystical customs and writings.

The most well known Jewish symbol is the Jewish Star of David; which is seen on the Israeli flag. Other well known symbols such as Chai, Hamsa and the Evil eye are all thought to posses powers of blessings and protection. There are also a special group of Kabbalah symbols that come from the writings of Jewish mysticism. These mystical symbols are used as amulets to protect a person and their home against harm and evil forces.

Each Jewish symbol has a special origin and meaning, and together these symbols form a strong part of the Jewish identity.
